就是汉喊敬语拼音，开头字母大写。北京的Peking是清末中国还没有拼音时外国对北京的音译，现在也用，现在也没扮可郑察慎写作Beijing。
过去我们没有规范汉语转写汉语的规定，一直使用的是很不规范的威氏拼音来拼汉字的贺困英文。所以出现了:tsinghua, peking等。但这种拼音完全是根据发音来的，不同的方言所写的文字就不一样，比如厦门，北京人就得写Hsiamen，而厦门人自己写成AMoy。后来新中国成立后，为了对外交流的方便和拼写的规范，规定用汉语拼音方案来统一中国专有名词的英文转写。于是tsinghua变成隐此了qinghua, peking变禅携念成了beijing，AMoy变成了Xiamen。
中国解放以晌陵行后大陆才颁布实施汉语拼音方案，按照汉语拼音规则“北京宴哗”翻译成“Beijing”。
在汉语拼音出现之前采用的是威妥玛式拼音和邮政式汪含拼音，译成“Peking”。

这是威妥玛式拼音法。威妥玛(1818--1895)，英国人。从1841年起在英国驻华使馆任职，1871年升为英国驻华公使。 威妥玛在华任职期间，为了外国人便於学习和掌握汉语、汉字，威妥玛使用他根据北京读书音制订的拉丁字母拼音方案给汉字注音。这个方案以后被普遍用来拼写中国的人名、地名等，一般称为威妥玛式拼音，如重庆Chungking、成都Chengtu、广州Kwangchow、南京碧晌Nanking、天津Tietsin、桂林Kweilin、台北Taipei等
